Recently, the 2022 list of towns and villages having more than one billion yuan and 100 million yuan of national rural characteristic industries respectively is released on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Ruiling Village in Huadu District is on the list.

　　As home to bonsai famous in China, and one of the scenic spots on the fine rural ecological tour route, Ruiling Village has a long bonsai history of more than 100 years. Ruiling bonsai inherits the green, natural, elegant and bold artistic characteristics of Lingnan bonsai, forming an unique and quaint artistic style with a high artistic and economic value.  In 1986, Ye Xuanping，then Governor of Guangdong Province gave Queen Elizabeth of the UK a birthday gift, Jiulixiang Bonsai , whoes pile head was produced in Ruiling Village.

　　In 2004, Ruiling Village was awarded as "the Home to Guangdong National Folk Art -- the Home to Bonsai". In 2014, Ruiling bonsai was recognized as the Fourth Batch of Guangzhou Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage. In 2015, Ruiling Village was awarded as "The Home to Folk Culture and Art of Guangdong Province (Ruiling Bonsai)". In 2020, Ruiling Village was awarded the national 10th batch of "One Village, One Product" Model Village and "One Village, One Product Specialized Village (Bonsai seedling)" of Guangdong Province. In 2021, Ruiling Village won the national "One Village, One product" model village and "National Village with 100 Million Yuan of Characteristic Industry ".

　　In addition, Ruiling Village has deeply cooperated with Guangdong Bonsai Association to set up a bonsai master studio, a Guangdong technician training base, a doctor's workstation, a professional farmer's cooperative of Ruiling bonsai for carrying out bonsai technician training,  and providing an expansion platform for more bonsai enthusiasts.
