At the end of 2021, there were 619 medical and health institutions in actual operation in Huadu District, including: 15 hospital institutions, 598 primary-level medical and health care institutions (including 19 community health centers and rural hospitals, 199 village health clinics and community health stations, 143 outpatient departments and nurse stations, 237 clinics and infirmaries), 4 public health institutions, and 2 other health institutions.
In 2021, for the District's 1.6509 million permanent residents, there were 10021 healthcare technicians, 3816 practicing (assistant) physicians, 508 general practitioners, 4655 nurses, 5039 permitted beds and 4491 available beds. (See the table below for details)
Distribution of health resources: 100% towns and streets were covered by primary-level medical and health care institutions; there were 6.07 health technicians, 2.31 doctors, 0.44 TCM doctors 2.82 nurses and 0.308 general practitioners for every 1,000 permanent residents; every 1,000 permanent residents had 2.72 hospital beds, with a doctor to nurse ratio of 1:1.22; and 89.12% of permitted beds of the District were actually utilized.
Distribution of health human resources: 38.08% of the District's health technicians were licensed (assistant) doctors, and 46.45% were nurses; and 47.35% licensed (assistant) doctors were stationed in hospitals, and 52.44% in primary-level medical and health care institutions .
