BOOKS STORAGE VILLAGE
Located 6km from southeast ofTanbu Dyke, Books Storage Village was built by Tan Jiajing who moved from the branch of Guotang Village in Baiyun District, Guangzhou in the middle period of the Ming Dynasty.
Architectures of ancient villages cover one third of the whole in the village, which were formed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and composed of temples, blockhouses, ancestral temples, book rooms,
ancient lanes and ancient dwellings, orderly and well protected. Gate towers oflanes are inlaid with red sandstone inscribed with names of the lanes, among which the "Dunrenli" Gate Tower is inlaid red sandstone externally and granite doorframe internally with characteristics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Special traditional customs have been kept in Books Storage Village nowadays. For example, the village conducts autumn ancestor worship on every sixth day of the eigbth lunar month, and fishes are
distributed to people of all ages and both sexes in the village. On January 14 in the lunar calendar, the eve of the Lantern Festival, activities such as casting lanterns and lantern parade are held inthe village.

Bus Route: take a shuttle costing 15 Yuan at Guangzhou Passenger Transport Station to Tanbu Town Station(about an hour) and then transfer to Hua No. 5 Wengang Bus to Books Storage Village Station or transfer to take a motorcycle costing about 10Yuan.
